The Druga Foxy is the latest dual-battery mod from Augvape. They’ve been around for a few years and became popular back when they released the Boreas and Merlin Mini RTA. They were quiet for a few years before having a really good 2018 with the Intake RTA, Templar RDA, and the BTFC RDA; all good atomizers for what they were designed to do. From a mod perspective, however, Augvape hasn’t made much noise as they tend to focus on atomizers.
I did review their first mod which was the V200, a power mode only mod designed to look like a Honda engine, and while it wasn’t a bad device, I found it really overrated in my testing. The Augvape Druga Foxy is a dual 18650 battery mod rated at 150 watts with a very unique “quick-release” 510. It’s available in two colors, silver and gunmetal, but has replaceable front and back panels and many options for those. I put the Foxy to the test; let’s see how it performs.

Colors: Silver, gunmetal
I was first introduced to this mod back in August at ECC Ontario where I got to see a prototype version they had on display. I really liked the design even then, so I was happy when I got one to review to really try it out and put it through its paces. The quick-release 510, while not groundbreaking or extremely useful, it does allow you to remove and put on your atomizer quicker while also allowing you to use it as a normal 510 as well. It’s not a super flashy mod, but I was pretty impressed with its simplicity and design from the start.
The Augvape Druga Foxy reminds me a bit of the Vaporesso Luxe in its shape and is quite comfortable to hold in the hand. It’s a simple rectangular mod, a pretty standard size for a dual-18650, and has a good weight to it as well. It feels substantial but not overly heavy. I was lucky enough to see both colors, with the beta unit being the silver and the final version being the gunmetal one. Not much of a difference between the two, but the beta had a “check battery” error pop up all the time due to a firmware issue. Augvape was awesome at getting right on top of it and getting it fixed quickly with the final version. The silver one has a really shiny finish to it, so it can be a fingerprint magnet. The gunmetal with its matte finish, however, is my preferred color of the two. Neither has shown signs of wearing, so excellent job there.
There are a few cool design features to this mod as well. The battery door is a magnetic backplate but there is also a magnetic matching front plate, and those are interchangeable with optional designs sold separately. The front plate one comes off for you to be able to adjust the power or swap modes, meaning that the buttons can’t be accidentally hit while the mod is in your pocket. Removing the front plate also shows you the front of the metal body which has the Ohm’s law pie chart on it. Probably not useful for most, but I find it to be a nice touch. Outside of that, the Foxy features a small, basic screen which can be seen with the panel on as well. It’s pretty bright too but doesn’t look very bright with the front panel on sadly.
There is no button rattle at all on this mod and the 510 pin is great and gave me no issues with any atomizer. The “quick release” button is very simple to use: just press the button, give your atomizer a small quarter turn, and release the button to secure it in place. To remove your atomizer, give it a quarter turn while keeping the button pressed and it will pop off. The spring for both the quick-release button and the positive 510 is pretty stiff and takes some effort to use, but really nicely done and convenient once you get the hang of it. The 510 platforms itself is centered and can fit a 26 mm atomizer flush with no overhang, so more than good enough there. The battery tray is a pretty magnetic backplate system and the batteries are easy to get in and out without damaging wraps.
The Augvape Druga Foxy is a pretty basic mod feature-wise. It only has two modes: wattage mode and voltage mode. No menu system, TC modes, preheat options or watt curves etc. Just a simple power mode mod, which is fine by me. I’d much rather have no TC on the mod then have a mod that has TC that doesn’t work properly.
There is no USB port on the Foxy which is fine by me as I don’t recommend charging mods internally anyway. Unfortunately, that also means no firmware updates either — not that it’s really needed in this power mode mod anyway.
Using the Augvape Druga Foxy
As far as usage goes, there isn’t a true menu since it isn’t needed, but the basics of using the mod are:
- 5 clicks of the fire button to turn on and off
- Hold + and – to switch between voltage and wattage modes
- Use + or – to adjust the wattage/voltage
Testing on the Augvape Foxy was done with Sony VTC5A batteries. They list the specs at 150 watts, 6.5 volts, and 45 amps. I’m glad they listed all three so kudos to them for doing that. During my testing, the max achieved wattage was 143, so it’s close enough that I consider it accurately rated for watts. The amp limit I got was 34, which is slightly lower than average these days (most dual 18650 mods are in the 35-40 range, with most being closer to 40) but is good enough. You can still get 130 watts out of the 150 max with a 0.11-ohm coil. It is however overrated, as they list 45 amps output, so I’ll be dinging them there. They should have listed it at 35 which would have been close enough.
The volt limit I got with a 0.57-ohm coil was 7.574 which shows there is no boost circuit, which is the case with most dual battery mods. They list the max voltage at 6.5 volts, but I believe they list that not as the max voltage of the mod itself, but as the max setting in voltage mode. If you use watt mode you can achieve more than the listed 6.5 volts, but if you use voltage mode that is your max. When testing it in voltage mode, the max I got was 6.627, so it’s rated pretty accurately.
Overall, the mod struggles a little with the 0.11-ohm resistance which is common, but it is a pretty accurate mod, right in line with the best of them on the market. It adjusts in full-watt increments which is great and in voltage mode adjusts by 0.1-volt increments. I’m very happy they didn’t go with the 0.1 increments in wattage mode like many mods do. During my testing, the mod also did a great job of not getting hot. Even when pushed to its limits it never got hot, which is very impressive. Overall, a great performer.
