GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

eekvape has joined the stream of companies building low wattage MTL atomizers in 2018. However, their entry comes with a familiar name – it’s the Ammit MTL RDA.

The Ammit is a 22mm single coil RDA, which utilizes Geekvape’s unique 3D airflow design. The top airflow system features a built-in chimney that directs airflow out beneath your coils from 3 directions.

It has 12 airflow adjustment options, so can cater for any type of MTL draw and even DTL. It also comes with 3 different style drip tips and a squonk pin.

The Ammit MTL RDA is available in 7 colors; Black, SS, Gold, Blue, Gunmetal, Violet, and Rainbow.

The Good

Elegant design, excellent build quality, tons of airflow options, excellent flavor and smooth airflow production.

The Bad

Post screws are not the best, and the throat hit is not quite as defined as other MTL atomizers.

The Bottom Line

We were all surprised by just how good the Ammit MTL RDA performs in both MTL and restricted DTL setups. It produces bundles of flavor with an extremely smooth draw. It’s an excellent design that shouldn’t work on paper but truly delivers in practice, and it has enough airflow configurations to suit any MTL vaper. Highly recommended.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

The Ammit MTL RDA is single coil and 22mm in diameter and is marketing as being specifically for mouth-to-lung vaping.

However, that’s not quite the case. The Ammit actually has 12 different airflow settings, which go from a tight MTL draw all the way to a comfortable restricted DTL draw.

This is all delivered through Geekvapes well-regarded 3D airflow system, which is built around a dual post deck.

The Ammit has a top to bottom airflow design, which means even with its substantial juice well, the way the airflow holes sit make it almost impossible to leak.

The AFC ring has one cyclops style inlet and one simple round inlet which enables you to cover or uncover either a group of air holes or just a single one, giving you complete control to fine-tune your draw.

It also comes with a selection of drip tips/mouthpieces. There are 3 different 510 style tip all with differing restrictions, ranging from a 3mm to 2mm bore – which does make it a versatile RDA.

The Ammit is squonk compatible and comes with a squonk pin. The way the juice well sits beneath the deck and air holes make it ideal as a squonking RDA.

It can be used as a dripper, and the 2ml capacity juice well is more than sufficient, but due to the positioning of the 3D airflow you may find some juice going astray.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

Style

In this day an age of low profile reduced chamber RDAs or overly tall and ornate looking MTL RDAs, it’s nice to see that although the Ammit MTL RDA is tall, it has a pleasant style to it.

It is an uncluttered and moderately elegant looking RDA. It foregoes sharp straight edges and instead has more of a domed conical shape, with just one simple piece of branding, a printed Ammit symbol.

I always find that MTL 510 drip tips look a little awkward and out of place on RDAs, but Geekvape has done a good job not only giving you options but making sure they suit the style of the device.

I also think they have made an excellent selection of colors and the Ammit looks good in every single one of them.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

Build Quality

It’s a Geekvape product so the build quality is top-notch as you’d expect.

The machining is perfect and smooth, and the RDA has no sharp edges.

The tolerance of the o-rings and the top cap connection are good, but maybe could be a little tighter. However, it won’t come off easily and can still hold the weight of most of my squonk mods.

My daily driver of an RDA is currently the Recurve, which has an incredibly thick top cap, so this one feels a little thin and flimsy to me. But I’m pretty sure it’s durable and sturdy enough to take some accidental abuse.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

Innovation

No direct innovation really, but Geekvape have been championing their 3D airflow design in many devices, and it’s great to see it in an MTL RDA.

They have been extremely smart with the design, to keep it compact and ensure the RDA is suited to squonking.

Just looking how the airflow is set up it really shouldn’t work for MTL, but it genuinely does. This either tells you that I know nothing about airflow, or that Geekvape has spent a lot of time engineering and testing this design.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

The build deck in the Ammit RDA may look quite complicated at first glance because of all of the air holes, but it is just a simple two post build deck.

It’s effortless to build on, just slot you coil legs through the post holes, make sure it’s lined up with your 3 airflow slots, and then tighten down on the Philips screws.

I’m not a huge fan of the Philips screws they have used; they are a little small and fiddly. I’d have preferred to see them a little wider or hex screws instead.

Still, it’s an easy deck to use, and there’s plenty of space for 3mm ID coils, and 2-2.5mm coils work just fine also.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

Wicking

The Ammit MTL RDA has enormous space for your wicks in the juice well that sits beneath the build deck.

It’s incredibly easy to tuck the wicks down there, and the capillary action of the wicks works well even with high VG juices, I had absolutely no issues with wicking.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

Squonking

One of the reasons the Ammit RDA wicks so well, is because of it squonks so well.

You can easily give the squonk bottle a full press, and that will saturate the wicks in the deep juice well, without any juice coming up over to coil and down any of the air holes.

Any juice that does find it’s way near an air hole, doesn’t make it’s way out of the RDA just by the nature of the top airflow design.

It’s perfect for squonking and as leakproof as you can get in an RDA.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

Airflow

When it comes to airflow configuration, Geekvape has got you covered with the Ammit MTL RDA.

As we discussed above the AFC ring has 5 air holes all varying in size, and either a cyclops style inlet or an individual hole to line up for the desired airflow.

The air travels down the built-in chimney inside of the top cap, where it meets two holes on the base of the build deck. It then travels up beneath the coil hitting it at 3 different points through separate airflow holes.

One airhole is straight between the posts, the other is an angled block on the other side of the deck, and the last in directly beneath the coil.

Interestingly the air hole directly beneath the coil actually has a small insert which you can unscrew, with the provided flathead screwdriver. There’s also another insert included in the spares kit. One has a 2mm diameter hole, the other a slightly smaller 1.75mm.

I preferred keeping the 2mm insert in place, but it’s great to see Geekvape giving you so many options when it comes to airflow.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

I’ve run several different builds in the Ammit MTL RDA from simple round coil builds to fancier fused Claptons, and it performs admirably each time.

The flavor is obviously more punchy with a 3mm ID Clapton coil if you are using it for a DTL vape, compared to a smaller ID coil or round wire. However, I was pretty surprised by the flavor this RDA was putting out

It’s not going to be on par with a high wattage DTL RDA, but for a low wattage MTL RDA, that can also do DTL it is very impressive.

The one thing I would mention is if you are running it solely as an MTL RDA, and you absolutely love having an intense throat hit, I found the Ammit to be a little softer on the intensity of the hit compared to some other MTL atomizers. I tried all of the drip tip combinations, and some were better than others, but it wasn’t ever as sharp and intense as something like the Berserker MTL RDA.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

Flavor

The flavor the Ammit RDA produces is impressive for an MTL atomizer.

I genuinely wasn’t expecting it to be as saturated and flavorful as it was, especially as an MTL vape, based off of the airflow set up and chamber size.

For me it even shines as a restricted direct to lung RDA, the flavor is just as prominent and easily rivals some other single coil RDAs I have in my rotation.

Trust me you are going to like the flavorful vape the Ammit MTL RDA gives you.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

Airflow

The Ammit has a plethora of airflow options…..and then some!

It really is an excellent RDA for being able to dial in the exact type of MTL vape you like, whether that be extremely tight or loose.

Personally, I like to restricted lung vape, and the Ammit can undoubtedly deliver that with the airflow wide open.

It is an amazingly smooth draw in whichever setup you go for, and actually reasonably silent as well.

I’m still not entirely sure how it manages it with all that airflow going around the coil, but it really delivers in both MTL and restricted DTL – it’s very impressive.

Verdict

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

The Ammit MTL RDA by Geekvape is an excellent RDA and performs flawlessly….even when it shouldn’t!

The fact you can get such a flavorful tight MTL draw from a device that has so much airflow going around the coil just baffles me…..it’s some kind of Geekvape magic.

Still, I don’t have to understand it to like it, and I more than like this RDA – in fact, I love it.

It’s one of the better-looking MTL RDAs on the market, it has superb build quality, and it can deliver both an extremely tight MTL and restricted DTL vape with bundles of flavor and super smooth airflow.

I’m genuinely impressed with the Ammit RDA, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an MTL RDA.

SMOK ROLO BADGE STARTER KIT REVIEW – SHIELD VAPE

Smok Rolo Badge Review: Breakdown

Smok Rolo Badge colors

Focus On www.urvapin.com For More Vape Start Kit.

Build Quality

Looking at the Smok Rolo Badge, it looks very much like the Lamborghini emblem with a Smok logo on the front instead of the raging bull logo. The Smok Rolo Badge is primarily made of zinc alloy and some premium polycarbonate plastic. It is available in 5 different color options.

You can get the Smok Rolo Badge in prism black, prism chrome, prism gold, prism blue and prism rainbow. There are no LED screen display and buttons on the Rolo Badge. There is just a battery LED indicator on the lower front of the device and a USB port on the bottom side for battery charging.

The battery is not removable and has a 250 mah capacity. The pod that sits on the top has a 2 ml e-liquid capacity and perfectly melds together with the body to complete the emblem shape. You don’t have to worry about changing the pods frequently because it can be easily refilled with e-liquid.

The pod has two fill slots on the bottom covered by a rubber plug so you don’t have to worry about leakage. The kit also comes with a 10 ml e-liquid injection bottle so you can bring your favorite e-liquid anywhere and refill the pod with it.

The Smok Rolo Badge also has multiple automatic protections to make sure you can vape without worries. It has an 8 second cut off, low voltage protection and short circuit protection.

Vapor Quality

The Smok Rolo Badge is a perfect starting kit for smokers who want to quit and switch to vaping. Just like the Smok Fit and the Smok Infinix, the Smok Rolo Badge is air driven. Air driven means that as long as the battery is full or has enough power, you just have to take a drag and it will produce vapors just like a normal cigarette.

You don’t have to press any buttons to fire the device like most mods, everything is automatic with the Rolo Badge. The Rolo Badge has an output of 10 watts up to 16 watts, which is the right amount of power for a starter kit since this device is optimized for high nicotine e liquids.

Its power output combined with a high nicotine e-liquid will always give you a nice nicotine buzz. The Rolo Badge is also made as a mouth to lung vaporizer, which makes for a tight and restrictive drag. It perfectly simulates smoking a normal cigarette so it will make it easier for newbies to transition into the world of vaping.

Smok Rolo Badge mouth piece detached

Versatility

The Smok Rolo Badge is a very simple device. Just like how the Smok Fit and the Smok Infinix are designed, the Rolo Badge has no LED screen display, no buttons, and no adjustments. You won’t be able to change its wattage or voltage and you won’t be able to change the airflow.

You won’t be able to change how it vapes. You will always be using a high nicotine e-liquid and you will always get a tight and restrictive drag off it. The Smok Rolo Badge is purely made for the new vapers that are transitioning to vaping as Smok wants to give them that kind of drag to help them switch easier.

The Smok Rolo Badge is not for those who are looking for an airy drag or wants to blow massive and dense clouds as its power and airflow holes won’t permit it. The Rolo Badge is also made for casual vapers as the battery capacity of 250 mah might not last a whole day for chain vapers.

Portability

The Smok Rolo Badge is a very compact and portable device. Even though there are other pod style vaporizers that have a thinner profile like the Smok Fit, Smok Infinix, and JUUL, the Rolo Badge’s design is still as compact and portable. It is only 73.3 mm in height, 50 mm in width and 12 mm in thickness.

You can easily put this in your pocket and even in your front shirt pocket with no problem. You can bring this to work, parties or social gatherings and have a satisfying vape everywhere due to its stealthy profile. The small capacity battery is not a problem too, as long as you have access to a USB powered port, you can charge the Rolo Badge anywhere.

Smok Rolo Badge in hand

Conclusion

The Smok Rolo Badge is a perfect starter kit for smokers who want to switch to vaping. The Rolo Badge’s design will give you a vaping style similar to smoking a normal cigarette. The low power output, high nicotine optimization, and small airflow holes will give you a tight and restrictive drag with a high nicotine buzz, which greatly simulates smoking a cigarette.

If you are a long time vaper who wants the same vaping style, you will also love the Rolo Badge since it is one of the most portable devices on the market right now. It is a perfect grab and go device since nothing beats the portability of a pod style vaporizer.

Hotcig Castle BF RDA review by dw1986

Hotcig Castle BF RDA

Hotcig’s new RDA is known as the Castle BF RDA, and it’s a 22mm dual post RDA featuring direct to coil airflow and a domed top cap, with the airflow and top cap designed to provide excellent flavour!

The Castle BF RDA is a squonk ready RDA, coming with a BF pin pre-installed and 510 pin in the spares bag, and it’s also aimed at those who prefer a tighter draw. Let’s have a closer look at the Hotcig Castle BF RDA…

  • Dual post, single coil build deck
  • Adjustable airflow
  • PEEK Insulator

  • Matte White Ultem top cap

Design and Build Quality

The Castle BF RDA is a 22mm width rebuildable dripping atomiser, that comes with a bottom feed pin pre-installed so it’s ready for use on a squonker out of the box! A standard 510 pin is included in the box, and can be easily swapped in if you don’t wish to use the Castle BF RDA on a squonker.

You get the choice of two top caps in the box, which is a really nice touch, a Stainless Steel cap and a matte white Ultem cap are both included. Both of them look great on the Castle BF RDA, my personal preference has been to use the matte white Ultem top cap as it’s actually transparent, meaning I can see how saturated my wick is, and it stays cooler under heavy use. A black Delrin drip tip also comes with the Castle BF RDA, and a black top cap will be available soon to purchase.

I’m a fan of the looks of the Castle BF RDA, it’s a great pairing with my Wismec Luxotic. I’ve not encountered any issues with the build quality, the top cap sits on the deck O-Rings nicely, and I feel that it is a really well made RDA!

Building the Hotcig Castle BF RDA

A two post build deck is found on the Hotcig Castle BF RDA, and this is one of the easiest decks I’ve ever built on! A premade Clapton coil is found in the spares bag, with a resistance of 0.2ohm, and this slots into the post holes easily.

The grub screws tighten down nicely, holding the coil legs in place and give stable resistance. Wicking is a fiddle, simply cut the wick tails just outside of the edge of the deck and push them down.

Airflow

An airflow slot measuring 3mm in diameter is found at each side of the deck, with the airflow intakes angled downwards slightly to hit the coil. This has an added benefit of offering protection against leaking when squonking!

Hotcig have designed the Castle BF RDA to offer a tight and flavourful vape, with the airflow ranging from a restricted lung hit to a mouth to lung hit depending on your build and airflow setting. Airflow is adjusted simply by rotating the top cap.

Performance

Designed as a pure flavour atomiser, the Hotcig Castle BF RDA offers a tighter, condensed draw that is quiet too, I didn’t notice any whistle at all!

Using the included 0.2ohm Clapton coil with the airflow set to fully open gives me a really incredible, flavoursome vape. This atty really delivers on the flavour front, and has become a go-to atty of mine recently thanks to the absolutely superb vape it offers. Although the airflow is a little restricted, it still gets pretty cloudy too!

The sloped design of the airflow intakes work really well for squonking, as it’s really hard to get this to leak if you oversquonk. I can safely say that during the past couple of weeks that I have used this RDA, I haven’t experienced a single leak!

Conclusion

Hotcig have designed an absolute gem with the Castle BF RDA, this is not only one of the most flavoursome atties I’ve tried this year, it’s one of the most flavoursome I’ve ever tried full stop!

If you like a tighter, more intense draw then the Castle BF RDA should absolutely be part of your collection, it’s relegated some of my more expensive atties to the vape draw! For sub £25 this is an absolute steal!
